Fulani Girl From Southern Zaria

22"x18" | “In the stillness of the early morning, a young African child walks by my house in Zaria, Nigeria, part of a group heading to the market with goods to sell. This daily task, lasting from dawn until nightfall, serves a deeper purpose beyond the immediate need for income. The money they earn is saved over time to pay their dowry when they come of age to marry, a tradition that intertwines their childhood labor with the responsibilities of their future.”
