THE CONSTANT EVOLUTION OF MY ARTIST PROGRESS

My work often begins with an idea or emotion, translated into bold strokes of charcoal or delicate layers of pastel. Each piece carries a story, yet that story is rarely linear. As I engage with my materials, the work takes on a life of its own. At times, an unexpected moment of inspiration—whether a memory, a cultural reflection, or the urgency of social issues—forces me to pivot. These drastic turns are not accidents but evolutions, born from the desire to honor the truth within the art.
Charcoal allows me to explore raw intensity, while pastels bring subtle depth, enabling me to communicate a spectrum of emotion. These shifts in technique mirror my journey as an artist and storyteller. Through my work, I aim to challenge perceptions, address critical issues like climate change, and celebrate the resilience of African heritage. Each turn reflects life—complex, unpredictable, and deeply human.
