A Brave New World
In the world they’ve inherited, the children are mostly on their own.
The systems that once promised safety—housing, power, clean water, food—have collapsed or vanished. What’s left is a fractured landscape, and a generation asked to solve problems they didn’t create. With no roadmap and little protection, survival becomes a kind of creativity. A daily improvisation.
This series imagines what comes after the warnings have failed—when the future arrives early and the youngest are forced to carry its weight. Not just the storms and rising heat, but the silence left behind when adults disappear or give up.
Some of these children become watchers of the weather. Others are builders of shelter, keepers of fire, scavengers of forgotten tools. They form small groups. They protect one another. They adapt.
I draw them not as symbols, but as survivors—sharp-eyed, resourceful, and changed. Their world is layered with threat, but also with the fragile beginnings of something new. Not a return, but a reckoning.
This isn’t fantasy. It’s the shape of what we’re already becoming.
And in their faces, we see both the cost—and the chance—to do better.
